2-Day Private Tour to Delphi, Meteora & Thermopylae | Explore Ancient Greece’s Iconic Monuments
Discover the most iconic monuments of ancient Greece with this 2-day private tour, taking you from Athens to Delphi, Meteora, and Thermopylae. The tour begins with a departure from Athens heading north, with the first stop at the sacred site of Delphi.
Here, you will visit the Temple of Apollo, the archaeological museum, and the Tholos. Delphi, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of Greece’s most significant archaeological sites. After enjoying a lunch break, we continue to Meteora, arriving in the afternoon.
On the following day, we will visit 2-3 of the Meteora monasteries, which also belong to UNESCO’s list and date back to the 14th to 19th centuries. After lunch at a traditional Greek tavern, we proceed to Thermopylae, the historic battleground between the Spartans and the Persians, where we will have the opportunity to admire the statue of King Leonidas. The tour concludes in the afternoon with a return to Athens.
Day 1:
- First Stop – Arachova: A stop at the picturesque village of Arachova for photos and views.
- Tholos of Delphi: Visit the Tholos, part of the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia.
- Delphi Archaeological Museum: View the artifacts from the Temple of Apollo, including the famous Charioteer of Delphi.
- Delphi Archaeological Site: Visit the Temple of Apollo and the Ancient Agora.
- Meteora: Arrival in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2:
- Meteora Monasteries: Visit 2-3 of the monasteries on the towering rock formations.
- Lunch and Shopping: Relax in a traditional tavern and explore the village of Kastraki.
- Thermopylae: Visit the battlefield and the statue of Leonidas.
- Return to Athens: Return to Athens with unforgettable memories.
